Q: Which kind of glazing is optimum in the conditions of Cairo?

A: In the conditions of the Egyptian capital on a ratio "price quality" a single-chamber double-glazed window (two glasses) not less than 20 mm thick will be the best decisiom.

To make heat saving and noise isolation more effective can be applied double-glass glazing (three glasses ) increasing its size to 32 mm  or to replace an ordinary glass with energy saving .

 

Q: How to understand double-glazed window identification mark?

A: One chamber windows of 20 mm thickness is usually : 5-10-5  which means that in the "package" connected two 5 mm glass with 10 mm distance between them. If the formula is triple-pane windows of 32 mm : 5-8-4-10-5, it means two glasses thickness of 5 mm and one glass thickness 4 mm, space between them is 8 and 10 mm.
