In the modern world there are health standards for acceptable level of noise in the premises. Afternoon acceptable level should not exceed 40 dB, and in the night it mustn't exceed 30 dB. Factors influencing the soundproof characteristics of PVC windows:

• Glass thickness. Installation of glass with different thickness will reduce noise by 5 dB.
• The value of the air gap between the panes. The greater this distance the better the sound insulation properties. It is better if the thickness of the air chambers will be different too.
• Tightness of the porch. PVC window must contain at least two sealing gaskets between the constituent elements.
• Accessories should be of high quality, well-regulated, providing a snug fit of the window sashes to the frame.
• Proper installation plays an important role, mounting seams should be of high quality. Sections which were improper processed with foam can nullify all the efforts.
