Interesting facts about PVC windows.

Many Egyptians use in their homes and offices practical and aesthetic plastic windows. Our clients usually know quite well the main characteristics of this product. Therefore, we suggest you to learn some interesting but little known facts from the history of plastic windows.

Polyvinyl chloride, the substance used for the manufacture of profile is one of the oldest synthetic materials used in construction. It was first opened in 1835.

The German company BASF became the first company engaged in the production of the polymer.

For the first time an attempt to replace the wooden frames on plastic was made in 1912, but the technical equipment did not allow to begin mass production at that time.

BASF became the engine of industrial production of plastics. In 1931, it had developed a new method for the production of PVC and implemented start-up of the factory which started the production of it.

First, the PVC was used in the manufacture of pipes, different coatings, linoleum.

Despite the fact that Germany has become a pioneer in the production of plastics, the first windows were made in the USA.

In 1952 it was first patented the production of plastic window frames. The owner was also German designer. Of course, the first plastic window was far from modern standards however, the beginning of their production stimulated the development of new technologies.

It is noteworthy that the glazing was patented much earlier than plastic frames. And in this case Germany was also the first, and it happened in 1865.
