PVC or wood: compare by all parameters.

Windows made of wood in the past occupied a leading position in the market. But now PVC windows are becoming increasingly popular, their share in the new construction has been constantly growing. The reasons for the increasing demand for these structures are quite obvious, but let's look at them in more detail.

There is a rather tenacious myth that PVC windows are fraught with a certain danger to health unlike wooden windows. Ecological safety of windows is proved by the fact that all modern medical ware, including vessels for storage of blood, becomes from PVC. Wooden windows are not only made of wood, they use  glue, varnish, primer in their production. So they also contain chemical elements.
 As to windows lifetime it is needless to say. PVC windows can last about 40 years without losing their properties, the tree is characterized by rapid wear. In addition, even high-quality wooden windows will lose their properties much faster than plastic, as polymers retain their properties up to 300 years!
An important factor is the reliability of windows. PVC windows throughout all service life retain the most important properties such as: sound insulation, lighting, protection from dust, energy efficiency and thermal insulation. The wood is subject to cracking, rotting and deformation.
 In respect of fire safety of PVC windows again win. Wooden frames instantly ignite and burn easily, PVC Windows rather melt, but do not burn. 
The appearance of windows is a matter of individual preferences. Some prefer the traditional wooden version, and some believe that the whiteness of PVC windows looks more aesthetic. But it is necessary to remember that today there is a possibility to order PVC windows of any color, even wood imitations.
Thus, for most of the indicators PVC windows are significantly  preferrable than wood.
