There are so many rumours about PVC windows that it’s hard to know what to believe. Let’s tackle the most common myths and see what’s actually true.
Myth 1: “Windows turn yellow in the sun.”
In fact, UV stabilizers are added to the profile to protect the plastic from fading. High‑quality windows stay as white as the day they were installed for years.
Myth 2: “PVC windows don’t ‘breathe’.”
True, the profile itself doesn’t let air through, but that’s not necessary. Micro‑ventilation, supply vents, and simply opening the sash provide airflow. The key is not to seal the room completely and to keep humidity under control.
Myth 3: “PVC is harmful to health.”
Modern profiles are made to strict standards: they contain no lead or other hazardous substances. At normal temperatures, the plastic doesn’t release anything harmful.
Myth 4: “PVC windows always get condensation.”
Condensation is about humidity and ventilation, not the window type. If the room is damp and there’s no air intake, droplets will appear on any glass. The solution is regular ventilation and humidity control.
Now you know: most fears come from outdated ideas. Today’s PVC windows are safe, convenient, and practical.
