PVC windows can effectively resist wind loads provided two key conditions are met: proper design of the structure and high‑quality installation.

What Determines Wind Resistance

Profile. Multi‑chamber PVC profiles with reinforcement (metal inserts) are stiffer and better withstand wind pressure. The more chambers and thicker the profile walls, the higher the strength.

Insulating Glass Unit (IGU). Glass panes of at least 4 mm thickness are used, often tempered or laminated. Double‑ or triple‑glazed units are more resistant to deformation.

Hardware. Reliable hinges, locks, and reinforcements distribute the load, preventing sagging and loss of airtightness.

Anchoring. The number and placement of anchor plates, as well as the depth of embedment into the wall, directly affect resistance to gusts.
