PVC windows and environment.

For the environment plastic windows are rather useful than just safe. Of course, in the past there were some problems with the disposal of polyvinyl chloride (by burning it releases toxic organochlorine compounds), but currently they are technologically solved. In residential premises with plastic windows it is almost impossible to burn them thanks to special additives.

The benefit to the environment plastic windows bring in an indirect way. First, by improving insulation due to glazing significantly reduced costs for air conditioning and heating. And, accordingly, reduces the amount of burned fossil fuels. In Germany, for example, because of these considerations there are specially granted government subsidies on heating for the owners of windows with double glazing.

There is another important factor. Each installed plastic window saved one (or even two) trees. Global reduction in the production of wooden windows and switching to synthetic materials can save a lot of forests that can not but rejoice.
