The main advantage of plastic windows is the tightness of the structure. Due to this property PVC windows provide noise protection, thermal insulation, protection from dust and drafts. Many people in this regard have a question how to provide ventilation at home equipped with plastic windows. In old buildings there is usually no ventilation system, it was naturally provided as fresh air entered through the cracks of wooden windows.
In a house with plastic windows, ventilation can be provided in one of the following ways:
- airing through a micro-gap. If you turn the handle to a certain position, a small gap will appear between the frame and the window sash. It will not greatly affect the sound insulation properties, it will ensure the penetration of air from the street into the room.
- installing the comb. This is probably the easiest and most inexpensive way to ensure proper ventilation. A special regulator is added to the window design which allows you to fix the sash in the desired position. Thanks to the comb between you can leave a micro-gap between a sash and a gap or open it for a sufficient distance.
- ventilation valves are the most effective option but they may significantly affect the cost of the ready product.
