How 3D printing may affect the market of PVC windows.

3D printing is currently used for the production of piece goods due to the low print speed 

of 3D printers. However, now there are preparation made for the widespread implementation of this technology in industrial production. 

Moreover, it is not only about knowledge-intensive industries such as aerospace, but also for the production 

of consumer goods. We decided to investigate how technological innovations can affect manufacturing. 

BASF of Germany, which traditionally has worked in production of plastics and paint substances creates a subsidiary company that will deal exclusively with three-dimensional printing. The companies that are planning the implementation of 3D printing technology in 

industrial production including in the consumer segment can be the potential customers of BASF. Three-dimensional printing is capable of changing any manufacturing. The program defines an algorithm for creating the product and according to it occurs layer-by-layer fusing of plastic filaments. 

China has mastered the printing of entire houses. The whole houses created by this technology were shown at the recent exhibition. US company plans a presentation of the printer to print with metal, and in Hong Kong they are working to reduce the cost and size of 3D printers. 

As for the production of PVC structures, then the technological breakthrough is expected. On the printer you can set the program to "print" the frame and the sash entirely according to the specified parameters. This one process will replace many of the technological steps such as: cutting a profile, inserting a reinforcing, welding, broaching the seal. The production time will be significantly reduced, and in the future the cost will be reduced also. Three-dimensional printing will make possible the mass production of standard and non-standard windows.
