PVC windows: how to distinguish the myth from the truth.

The growing popularity of plastic windows has created a big number of myths that lead away from reality. We have compiled for you a list of such statements that are not true. 

- In winter, the plastic windows do not let the cold air in the apartment. Unfortunately, such windows do not exist. Through the Windows and the door comes up to 80% of heat loss, but no one wants to live in a house without windows and doors. However, modern plastic window is approximately twice more energy efficient than the old wooden ones. They have a serious system of seals, so they there is no blowing wind. 

- All the street noise will disappear completely with the installation of plastic windows. The noise will not disappear completely, but its level will be significantly reduced. In general, the windows absorb high-frequency noise very well and  low frequency not so well. Although the latter would be significantly reduced by high-quality and properly installed windows. 

- Inside the glass there is a vacuum.

This can not be according to the laws of physics. If there was a complete vacuum, then the glass would just be pushed inwards by the atmospheric pressure and burst. The air inside the glass during its manufacture, indeed, is subjected to a vacuum, since the glass needs to be held tightly, but it's not the complete vacuum.
