Sealer is an important part of the plastic window.

PVC windows is quite a complicated design, where each element is in place and is responsible for certain characteristics of the entire window as a whole. The role of the sealer is to ensure a maximum snug fit of the sash to the window frame. If integrity is not ensured, there will be a draft, the window will not close very tightly and all valuable properties of the plastic window will be negated. Therefore, the sealer is not less important part of the plastic window than others. Only simple care is required to prolong its service life, and if necessary it can be easily replaced.

The main characteristic of the seal of high quality is maintaining the integrity and elasticity. A good seal is able to perform its function long enough. No matter what color or thickness of the material, the main factor which determines the quality is its durability. Silicone rubber is one of the top quality materials for the manufacture of the seal. 

Warranty period of operation of the seal is usually about 5 years. Really you can use it much longer with proper care. The frequency of  windows use is not very important for the sealer,  the chemical composition of the material is much more important. Sealer of high quality withstands high loads, but the chemical aging of the material over time is inevitable.
