Self-healing plastic - the technology of the future.

It is well known that UV rays are harmful for most materials of different origin. But to this rule there are exceptions, which include a new plastic developed in the United States. The sun just doesn't cause him any harm, but even helps to eliminate damage to the surface. 

The essence of this technology consists in the reconstruction of the destroyed molecular bonds between the polymer chains. In the case of mechanical damage such ties are broken and in the areas of damage appear dark-red spots. Under the action of the sun, the plastic gets to the original form and recovers its properties. Self healing can be repeated, which suggests that PVC Windows made of such material will be even more reliable and durable than they are now.

While it is not advisable to use this material in mass production due to high cost. However, this development is very promising and in the near future it is planned to use this material for the external cover profile.
