Are PVC windows safe for the environment?

PVC  windows are not just saf for the environment, we can say they are useful. In the past there were some problems with the disposal of polyvinyl chloride (by burning it releases toxic organochlorine compounds), but currently these problems are solved thanks to technological innovations. It is almost impossible to burn PVC windowsin residential buildings, thanks to special additives which are simply do not burn.

There is also indirect way how PVC windows benefit to environment. First of all, they can significantly reduce heating costs thanks to perfect heat insulation features. In turn, it will help not to burn so much fuel. For example in Germany government even pays subsidies on heating to the owners of double glazed windows.

There is another important factor. Buying one plastic window you will save life of one or even two trees. If we prefer plastic windows it's a good chance to save forests on the planet for our children.
