Choosing the proper window

For most of us our house means our fortress. And it means not only protection against intruders but peaceful, tranquil, cozy and confortable place. That is what our house is.

To create such place, choosing the right windows is an important point. They have to perform will their main functions: to provide good sound insulation and room ventilation. Another is important feature is antiburglar protection. if you decide to install windows in your new apartment or to replace the old ones, you will find a lot of offers in the market. So we prepared some explanations for you to make your choice easier

Off course, you know that window design consists of three parts: profile, glazing and fittings.

Profile (frame) can be made of aluminum, wood, mixed wood with aluminum or plastic. Last years plastic is the most popular material.

The reason is simple enough: it does not support burning, not afraid of water and frost, and has best characteristics of thermal and sound insulation. All with plastic profile you can follow your imagination as it is possible to make window of any shape according to your request

The air gap inside the frame is called chamber. Profile can be two-, three-, five - chambers in dependence of number of chambers. The more chambers, the better insulation.

Glazing consists of two or more glasses, the space between them filled with air or an inert gas. It depends on glazing and chambers if you are cold in winter or not.

You can select different types of glass: it can be a special energy-saving glass or triplex glass to ensure your security.

But the glass and the frame are not a whole window. Accessories are not less important, operation characteristics of window depend on their quality. Hinges, locks, latches, openers, ventilation, parts preventing breaking – all this is fittings. Smoothness, ease of manipulation and durability  depend on them.
