Laminated glass (triplex), which is part of the shockproof double-glazed Windows appeared absolutely by accident. A French chemist, accidentally dropping a glass vessel on the floor, which was wrapped in cellulose nitrate, did not break. This case gave the idea for experiments in this direction. Initially triplex was used in the military industry for the production of gas masks. Later, triplex glass found a much wider application.
