Where were PVC windows invented?

It's been some time since uPVC window appeared in the Egyptian market. Since that time, their popularity is rapidly and steadily increasing. These windows are now installed not only in the apartments or villas, but also in offices, schools and hospitals. Happy owners of new PVC windows have already managed to forget about the street noise, the eternal dust and drafts. Very few people come to mind to be interested in history of creation of these great designs.

For those who interested in the history of PVC windows in the global construction industry, we decided to talk a little bit about it. Well-known abbreviation "PVC" means polyvinyl chloride. The most surprising is the fact that this substance was synthesized in the nineteenth century by American scientist. PVC is essentially a type of plastic with increased strength. PVC was ahead of its time and therefore for was temporally forgotten. Its mass production began in the twentieth century. 

Originally PVC was used to manufacture water pipes and only much later it found its use in window and door designs. This is due to the fact that the initial PVC was not sufficiently strong to be a basis for such a heavy construction as a window. 

However, in the middle of the century chemists managed to create a material with characteristics that allowed to begin mass production of PVC windows. Germany was the first country that started the manufacturing of PVC products and still remains the leader in production of window designs. 

Today more and more people in Egypt choose PVC windows. Their relatively high cost  is based on their strength, durability and functionality.
