How to care for matte and colored glasses?

Some customers are faced with the problem - how to wash old, colored glass (stained glass Windows), without breaking their pattern and color.  There are certain rules for this. Should not be cleaned with liquid glass cleaner because it can dissolve paint. Dust is best removed with a soft cloth. In the case of modern stained glass Windows, it is better to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Some difficulties exist when cleaning the frosted glass, it is recommended to wear special gloves. First, as a security measure to protect your hands, but also because not to leave fingerprints on the washed glass. Next, you need to spray the glass cleaner, then wipe the glass with a newspaper or paper towels, performing a circular motion. Remember that frosted glass is much harder to clean than ordinary glass because of the chemical matting process. If the glazing is installed in a wooden frame, be very careful using a hard sponge, and try not to scratch the paint.

You can remove metal traces from tempered glass using sandpaper, the grain of which is similar to the surface of frosted glass. It is not recommended to use sandpaper on too smooth glass, as you risk scratching it. A good way to check whether the roughness of sandpaper on the structure of frosted glass, RUB your hand on the paper and glass. To remove the strips from contact with metal objects must be rubbed with sandpaper, making a circular motion, as if you were cleaning a normal double-glazed window, until the strips disappear.

In turn, frosted glass in the doors or glazing of bathrooms is also washed with hot water and vinegar in a ratio of 2:1. Wet a soft cloth napkin in solution, wipe the glass with it, rinse quickly and dry.
